Playstation portable (PSP) is a great gaming system. Getting a psp is crazy hard.

The ingenious idea to create a mobile edition of the PlayStation gave birth to the popular handheld gaming device, PSP or the Portable PlayStation.  As the name suggests, portability is the main feature of the said gadget.  It provides gaming mobility without compromising PlayStation’s gaming quality and features.

The PSP also was the first handheld game console to adopt an optical disc format known as the Universal Media Disc (UMD) as its primary storage media.  Apart from its huge multi-media capabilities, connectivity with the PS3 and other PSPs and the Internet, it also has a amply large viewing screen for better gaming experience.

Even with powerful features and outstanding multimedia capabilities, the PSP’s performance in terms of sales during its first few years has been overshadowed by its archrival Nintendo DS.  Soon after, Sony released a slimmer and lighter version of the PSP which was appropriately named as PSP Slim and Lite.  Sales for the PSP have improved since but requests from retailers for price cuts have not stopped knocking on Sony’s door.  In fact, there has been an issue about the increased clamour for price review as retailers were said to be threatening Sony to either cut PSP’s price or they would no longer carry the said console.  Sony finally gave into their wishes and price cuts took effect during the first half of last year in the UK and US.  Price cuts have since then been implemented but at least made positive effects on sales as cheap PSPs were now made available in retail establishments as well as online stores.
